The VI Peel Procedure
A VI Peel is performed in the office, taking just a few minutes. Initially, a slight stinging sensation may be noted as the peel is applied, although this will quickly diminish. No anesthesia is required during the treatment, as the VI Peel contains a numbing agent, which ensures patient comfort. Once the VI Peel has been applied by an aesthetician, patients are free to return home. The peel will need to remain on the skin for four hours, at which time it can be washed off. Additional aftercare products, designed to enhance the peeling process, will be given to the patient. We will review all of the at-home instructions before a VI Peel patient before leaving the office
Recovery after a VI Peel
Initially, after patients wash the VI Peel from their face, the skin will appear red and mildly swollen. This is normal and will resolve over the first 24 hours. There is no required downtime after a VI Peel; patients are able to return to work, school, and most normal activities immediately. It is imperative that the VI Peel should remain on the face for a minimum of four hours. Vigorous exercise or strenuous activities should be avoided for the first 24-48 hours, as the resulting sweat could potentially alter the VI Peel’s results.
How many peels do I need?
A single Vi Peel will result in significant skn repair and give you a healthy glow to your skin. The peel works great not only as an active treatment but also as a preventative treatment. Each peel can be repeated as often as every two weeks, if necessary, for damaged skin. Our skin care specialists will recommend a personalized skincare regimen to give you the best results.
