Rhinoplasty Before & After: Addressed a Droopy Tip, Saddle Nose & A Dorsal Hump After Septoplasty

Our beautiful patient is seen before and 1 year after rhinoplasty surgery in our practice. Her situation is interesting, since in 2023, she underwent septoplasty, and endoscopic sinus surgery by another otolaryngologist, and she had significant changes in the appearance of her nose after that functional surgery. Septoplasty and sinus surgery should not lead to a change in somebody's nasal appearance. In all likelihood, there may have been disruption of the ligaments that typically extend from the bottom of the nasal septum to the nasal tip, and this led to nasal tip droopiness. For some reason, she also developed a bit of a saddle nose deformity below her dorsal hump, and she was very disappointed with her nasal appearance. When we met, since there was no usable nasal septum palpable on examination, we decided to utilize MTF fresh frozen cadaver profile sheets for nasal tip and airway reconstruction/

Her operation consisted of nasal tip deprojection and rotation, along with hump removal, and nasal straightening, for a less distracting, and more feminine nasal appearance. We utilize the MTF cartilage for a strong columella strut graft, to support her nasal tip, and for bilateral spreader grafts, since she had indentations in the mid vault of her nose on both sides.
